Unfolding Places

Unfolding Places gathers a series of paintings shaped by quiet, repeated encounters with landscapes of the West of Ireland. Some were painted en plein air during Love’s recent residency at Glenveagh National Park in Donegal. During this time, she explored Glenveagh’s diverse and storied landscape, which led to intimate studies of woodlands, gardens, waterways, mountains, and boglands. Others were developed in her Galway-based studio after time spent researching and walking locations within Connemara, the Burren, and the Aran Islands. Each painting draws from repeated encounters with specific places, focusing on how weather, light, and season gradually shape the experience of being in the
landscape.

Tiffani Love

Originally from Northern New York and now based in the west of Ireland, Tiffani Love’s painting process is deeply rooted in movement, observation, and connection to place. She begins by walking the landscape and building a relationship with it before translating her experience onto canvas. Layers of paint reflect the ever-changing nature of the land, revealing how past and present intertwine beneath the surface.

Love received her BFA from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2017 and her MFA from the Burren College of Art in 2022. She has exhibited across Ireland and in the United States. A recipient of multiple awards, including the Arts Council of Ireland’s Agility Award and two Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grants, she was also the first artist awarded the Plein Air Painters Residency at Glenveagh National Park. Since 2022, she has been based at Barton Studios in Galway.
