Our newly formed union is all about student voices and welfare. Rooted in our rural community, our focus is on visibility and support for LGBTQ+ students, pushing for a more accessible campus, and providing the proper mental health resources for students.
We believe that strong academic and social well-being begins with open, honest communication. Through regular student forums, we provide a platform for your voice to shape real change. These discussions directly inform our meetings with college leadership, ensuring your ideas are heard. Together, we’re building an inclusive, responsive, and student-focused future!

Community Opportunities for BCA Students
BCA partners with several organizations, in the arts as well as ecology and sustainability, which have opportunities for students to get involved:
126 Gallery is an artist-led, not for profit organisation integral to the visual arts ecology and cultural landscape of Galway. Our students and graduates have had positions on the gallery board, and contributed to the curation and running of the gallery. We’ve also had students exhibit on an annual basis in the 126 space.
Common Knowledge is a skill-sharing centre based just outside of the nearby village of Lisdoonvarna. They offer courses and workshops in building, making, mending and growing as well as volunteer opportunities throughout the year. They believe that between us all, we have the knowledge needed to create a truly sustainable future.
Visual Artists Ireland is a great resource for national opportunities for artists at all stages of their careers and in any media.
