Partnerships

Connecting artists, ideas and opportunities, from the Burren to a wider creative community.

At Burren College of Art, collaboration creates space for artistic exchange, experimentation and discovery. Our partnerships support artists through residencies, exhibitions and shared research, bringing new perspectives into the life of the College.

Exhibitions / Research / Creative Exchange

Sidney Nolan Trust

Our collaboration with the Sidney Nolan Trust explores the legacy and experimental practice of Sir Sidney Nolan, connecting archival discoveries with contemporary artistic responses.

Following Celtic Image in 2018, BCA hosted A View From Nowhere: The Photocopy Self Portraits from 6–28 March 2025, with a research symposium on 5 March. The project introduced previously unknown photocopy works Nolan created in 1987 using an office photocopier.

Presented by Copy Collective in partnership with the Trust and BCA, with support from Canterbury Sound Studio, the exhibition and symposium brought artists and researchers together to explore the works through image, sound, performance and discussion.

Printmaking / Artist Residencies

Graphic Studio Dublin

Our partnership with Graphic Studio Dublin gives its members the opportunity to develop their practice in the distinctive setting of the Burren.

The 2025 scheme offered two residencies of two weeks each, providing access to BCA’s Print Studio and campus facilities, together with a private room in shared campus accommodation. Artists could take part in exhibition openings, public lectures, film screenings and other College events.

The residency supported independent creative work in a non-toxic print studio equipped with an etching press. Each recipient was expected to share their practice through a workshop or a talk and demonstration for the College’s resident community.
