Research interests

The psychogeography of borders, the psychology of territory, how socio-politics are reflected in the landscape; how identity shapes and is in turn shaped by our environment.

Teaching Philosophy

A good work ethic, independence and authenticity; these are qualities I consider to be of great importance and which I try to nurture in students. By encouraging them to explore, research and learn, and to enjoy the process, they can find a sense of their own value in the world as artists. In order to fulfil their potential, I believe it to be vital that they learn to rely, navigate and exploit their strengths but also to keep taking risks and pushing their own limitations and boundaries.
