He was a founding trustee of the Burren College of Art, the annual Burren Law School and the landscape charity Burrenbeo Trust which he also chairs. Among his current interests are teaching creativity, raising ecological awareness and exploring the possible role of the Irish language in national renewal. Since 2012 he has been actively engaged with the issues of climate change and energy transition helping to promote international and national conversations on these issues. He is also keenly interested in leadership development for this era of profound change.
