Alumni Residency Award

Alumni Residency Award

The BCA Alumni Artist in Residence Award was created in 2014 as part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Burren College of Art. As part of this year’s 25th Anniversary of the College we were delighted to offer four alumni residency awards which include free studio and housing.

The aim of the award is to recognise the valuable contribution our alumni have made to the continued growth of the College and we invite former Individual Study Abroad undergraduates, postgraduates and Global Ecologies Studio Summer School students to apply for these awards annually.

Artists-in-residence, workshop attendees and students from Faculty-Led Study Abroad groups are not eligible to apply for this award.

Many former students speak of the impact their time in the Burren has had in shaping their art practice and careers, and of their desire to revisit and reconnect with this source of creative inspiration. We are happy to be able to offer this award to support our alumni each year, and to welcome their return to the Burren.

Each award provides the resident with four weeks of: individual studio space on campus, access to all college facilities and self-catering accommodation in Ballyvaughan for the month. Artists will be welcome to participate in campus activities such as Visiting Artist talks, gallery openings and orientation week events.

Please note that this award is currently suspended until further notice.

WE PLAN TO POST THE NEXT CALL FOR APPLICATIONS IN SPRING 2023
