Qi Chen
My research project combines expanded portraiture, documentary films, and virtual reality to reclaim the status of Chinese veterans. By integrating diverse forms of expression, such as traditional Chinese portrait painting techniques, documentaries, and VR installations, it aims to provide a deeper understanding of the marginalized experiences of Chinese KMT veterans. Through this immersive experience, it seeks to foster empathy, recognition, and positive perceptions of their contributions to society.
