Julia Long
Having worked in the communications industry for many years previously, Julia works as anchor point between various programmes running on campus throughout the year.
As Director of Student Affairs, Julia holds a bridging role, helping students through their journey from their home institution and country to a new programme in the West of Ireland, finding ways to adapt to cultural differences, the rural and remote environment of the Burren, overcoming homesickness or facilitating access to appropriate counselling services as required. She also runs an ad-hoc “Let’s get talking” programme, which is a free drop-in service accessible to all students – facilitating informal conversations in a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space about their worries and concerns, advice on what resources are available and possible steps to take.
Julia also manages the Groups Study Abroad Programme at BCA, as well as the library, the summer workshops programme, conferences and leadership events.
