Walking, Painting and the Burren

Walking, Painting and the Burren

Faculty: Conor McGrady
Dates: 14th – 18th May 2018
€385

This five-day class immerses you in the remote limestone landscape of the Burren and in the studios at Burren College of Art. Through walking and responding to this unique environment through drawing and gathering visual source material, you will explore and transform your experience of the Burren through painting. Walks will be combined with work in the studio, where you will have the opportunity to explore the potential of paint as a personal expression of your response to place.

Practical demonstrations and presentations will introduce you to a range of technical approaches to handling paint. Participants are welcome to work in either oils or acrylics. This workshop is suitable for all levels, from beginner to advanced, and will expand your approach to painting as a visual language.
