June workshops
Mindfulness and creativity
This immersive workshop will take you on a journey of mindfulness practice and creative expression in the surrounds of the wild and beautiful Burren. Each day will incorporate mindfulness practice; periods of silence; outdoor Burren experiences; time to create; discussion and sharing.
Outdoor drawing and sketching, regardless of ability, will help ground awareness. Time in the studio will form the creative capstone on each day where we will spend time evolving and adapting outdoor sketches and/or responding to the day’s mindfulness practices. This may include drawing, painting, coloring, collaging, mixing media, using words, found objects or all of the above to represent light, colour, shape, movement, pattern. Witness your internal landscape and the outdoor Burren landscape. Emphasis is placed on mindful creativity as opposed to producing a specific piece of art.
Bring along a sketch pad for using outdoors as well as paint of your choosing (acrylic/oils/watercolor), charcoal, pencils, pastels, markers. You may like to work with found objects, collage and/or in three dimensions. You may even want to bring along a project from home.
This is your time: mostly bring curiosity and openness.
