Oil painting in the Burren

Faculty: Conor McGrady
Dates: 10th – 14th May 2021

This five-day workshop immerses you in the materials and techniques of oil painting, examining colour, composition and personal expression. Through engagement with still life and portraiture, you will develop skills in representing volume and space, light and shadow, approaches to painting flesh and the application of color theory. Demonstrations will introduce you to a range of techniques, processes and painting mediums. The class is suitable for participants who have some experience in oils and wish to develop their skills in handling paint and expand their approach to painting. If you wish to continue building your skills with oils, you can also continue with the Walking, Painting & The Burren workshop which runs the following week. In this workshop you have the opportunity to continue working with oils.
