Group Study Abroad

Semester Group Study Abroad

"Burren College of Art makes it easy for relatively inexperienced professors to give students a study abroad experience." Meg Upchurch, Transylvania University, May 2006

Home faculty accompany a participating group enabling them to continue their home study schedule but in a new and stimulating environment. Students are taught by BCA faculty and by their own faculty member(s), providing a varied and enriching perspective.

Students generally pursue the immensely valuable Irish Studies course, providing insights into Irish culture and history and they also choose one studio course from the BCA course schedule. The remaining three studio courses can follow the student's home study schedule under the direction of the accompanying faculty leader.

This unique model provides students who may be reluctant to travel on their own, with the opportunity of studying abroad. It also satisfies the requirements of colleges anxious to ensure the continuity of their student's course of study.

Students may also avail of BCA's faculty-led trips to Dublin, Paris and London.
