Hazel Egan is a visual artist from Tullamore, Co. Offaly, currently based in Dublin. Her practice is multi-disciplinary, primarily incorporating pencil drawing, printmaking and installation. Through her practice she is interested in capturing the gaps in time and space, what lies beyond a limit and the vulnerability of the human condition. Her work often alludes to the sublime nature and mystery of the unknown and in doing so provokes metaphysical questions.
Egan graduated from the Limerick School of Art and Design in 2014 with a BA in Printmaking and Contemporary Practice. She was awarded the Selectors Choice Award by Nevan Lahart at the 2014 Drawing Awards, LSAD and the Foundation 15 and AIB People’s Choice Award in 2015. She has exhibited nationally and internationally.
