BFA (University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, USA), MFA (University of Michigan, USA)

Drawing & Painting

Colin’s work combines an obsessive attention to detail, brusque
drawing, and a cobbled together aesthetic honed working as an
installer of temporary electric for small town county fairs. His
drawing based multi-disciplinary practice references improvised and
jury-wrigged construction techniques and includes object making,
installations, outdoor projects, and printed matter. The project,
“Making Do,” was described by art writer Rafael Salas, as,
“heartwarming, nostalgic, and full of humour despite its grim
prognosis.”

Colin’s recent projects include FIREDRILLTRADESHOW, a solo exhibition
at Artspace Leguit, Antwerp, Belgium and Herr Seagull and His Global
Dustbreath, a two-person exhibition (with Kati Heck) presented by the
Parachute Project in Milwaukee, WI, USA. He works collectively with
Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative. They recently installed a solo
exhibition at the Biennial of Graphic Arts, Ljubljana, Slovenia, a
project for the 2011 Pittsburgh Biennial, USA, and are currently
making a portfolio of images addressing Migration.
