Chris Wallis, Art History & Critical Theory

Educated at Salisbury College of Art, Portsmouth Polytechnic and Edinburgh University in the UK, Chris has a BA(Hons) Fine Art and an MPhil degree. His previous teaching experience includes GMIT, Edinburgh University and The Blue Mountain School in Ootacamund, India.

In addition to teaching Art History and Critical Theory for a number of years Chris has a practice in theatre and as a film maker. Since 1995 he has been involved in the Dog and String Theatre with responsibilities for writing, producing, directing. His main current project is a feature length film "Lumb's Sister"on which he is collaborating with experimental composer Steven Stapleton. This work explores ideas of refuge and psyche in landscape, a theme underlying his creative work over a number of years and one which he will explore through his teaching first year students of the MFA course.
