College Facilities

The Burren College of Art was purpose built to the highest standards in 1993 in the grounds of a sixteenth century castle, winning architectural awards and becoming subject to a preservation order. Great care was taken in the selection and use of building materials to ensure that the college complements its natural environment. The campus was extended in 2005 with graduate studios and an art gallery. The aadministration is located in a resotred farmhouse on campus. The facilities are spacious and comply with international health and safety regulations.

FACILITIES HIRE

The range of facilities available to groups makes Burren College of Art an ideal setting for a wide variety of events and occasions, from conferences for up to 200 delegates to smaller presentations, retreats, away-days and team-building events. We offer a range of flexible spaces from the Gallery, lecture hall and break-out rooms as well as a 16th Century round tower on campus, Newtown Castle, which lends itself to atmospheric and memorable receptions, awards ceremonies and even weddings.

Wireless internet access throughout the campus and the Food of the Arts Cafe provide the on-site supports needed to make any event a success.

The setting of the college itself is an important component in the unique atmosphere of events here at BCA. The wide-open spaces of the Burren, coupled with its stark and arresting beauty give delegates an opportunity to break away from the quotidien distractions of urban settings and encourages intense focus, an intimate group atmosphere and often produces surprising results.

We work closely with all visiting groups to ensure the success and smooth running of all events on campus. For further information and rates, please contact Karen Culligan
