Burren College of Art operates independently without the benefit of operational state funding. Student tuition fees fund the running and development of the college. We invite you to invest in our students and in so doing, to be involved in the ongoing development of this innovative education model that is the Burren College of Art.

Burren College of Art Scholarship Fund

The goal of a BCA education is to develop professional artists who are engaged, informed, committed global citizens whose work will positively impact society.

The goal of the Burren College of Art Scholarship Fund is to make our unique postgraduate programmes available to the most talented students irrespective of means.

Since the scholarship campaign was launched in 2004, the fund has assisted 27 MFA students. Our current goal is to provide €250,000 in scholarship assistance each year from 2009 - 2014.

We invite you to avail of one of the following options:

Corporate Patronage
1. BCA Main Patron: An individual or corporation who will invest €100,000 annually over the next five years.

2. Named Scholarship: Five opportunities exist for a business or individual to invest €25,000 annually over five years in a scholarship bearing the company or individual's name.

Individual Sponsorship
3. Michael Greene Fund: Established to honour the memory of its founder, the Michael Greene Scholarship Fund presents opportunities for individual donations to the overall scholarship fund. €1,000 - €5,000

4. Friends of BCA Annual Fund: €250 - €1,000

Benefits to Patrons
Corporate and Individual Patrons will receive the benefits afforded to Friends of the College. In addition Burren College of Art will discuss individually the specific benefits most appropriate to its corporate and individual patrons.

These can include:

  • Listing in BCA promotional materials and events
  • Inclusion in the selection process of the scholarship recipient
  • A finished art piece from the scholarship beneficiary
  • Participation in the college art workshop programme
  • Use of Newtown Castle / BCA facilities for corporate events

Benefits to Friends of BCA

  • Invitation to attend opening receptions of exhibitions and of the annual Spring Conference and Burren Law School
  • Priority booking on BCA workshops and public events
  • Discount (10%) on BCA workshops and concerts <
